Petaling Jaya, 6 FEBRUARY 2015: Croesus IT Solutions Sdn. Bhd., a privately own Malaysian company on Information Technology and Business Solutions today handed over total sum of RM18,000.00 to the Global Environment Centre (GEC), a Malaysian non-profit environmental NGO to fund its initiatives in environment, community and charity. The donation is a CSR initiative of Croesus and mainly comes from the promotion of a new software called ‘Croesus myGST Addon for SAP Business One Version 9.0 PL8‘ marketed by Croesus to address coming GST planned by Malaysian Authorities for Malaysian tax payers. Whilst competing solutions are being priced at RM15,000 to RM 30,000 range, Croesus is offering the software at RM1 for Malaysian based SAP Business One user on an active annual maintenance contract. The end users are encouraged to contribute a percentage of the savings in support of the CSR initiative.

Besides supporting GEC’s ongoing efforts in environmental protection, the donation is to assist a local Orang Asli of Temiar community group known as Sahabat Sungai Nenggiri (SSN) in Pos Pulat and Pos Tohoi, Gua Musang, Kelantan which have been badly affected by the recent flood devastation. SSN is a part of Nenggiri River Conservation Programme (NRCP) supported by GEC since 2004 following concerns expressed by the local community and other stakeholders over the degradation of the river and loss of livelihood from fishing and other natural resource-based activities. The cheque was handed over by Mr Andy Sayus, Director of Croesus IT Solutions to Mr Faizal Parish, Director of GEC.

“This CSR initiative is our commitment and accountability to our business operation. The recent flood incident is tragic and we hoped that the amount contributed will alleviate the burden on the flood victims” said Richard Liau, Director of Croesus IT Solutions. He also added that the contribution was to commemorate the 3rd year memorial for the late Chairman of Croesus IT Solutions, Y Bhg Datuk Roger Tan Kim Hock who was also formerly the President and Chief Executing Officer of Hong Leong Credit Bhd. Croesus’ CSR initiative for the end users will have three focus areas : Environment, Community and Charity. They will collect on behalf and contribute as and when collected. The collections tally will be summarised on the web site to thank their generous end users.

Meanwhile, Faizal said the donation will do a long way in GEC’s efforts; particularly on community-based rehabilitation and conservation of forest and rivers. On the flood aid, GEC is currently assisting the communities in their recovery and rebuilding process. The fund contributed will be used to purchase essential items including water pumps to supply fresh and clean underground water and materials for rebuilding their homes.
